Well, I am finally getting my website back up, so I am also going to try to get back to this. We will see what happens.

shibori paper technique

This summer I took a Shibori workshop during the Moore Alumna reunion. I've always wanted to learn more about shibori but never had the opportunity to actually do it. I understood the principal process and always thought that it was something that could relate to my work and thanks to this workshop, finally I realized how much so.

I took to the process like it was something long lost in my artistic arsenal. Getting back into my studio I found it easy to explore on paper rather than fabric for now. During the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, I worked on the paper pieces.

This is the scarf I made at the workshop. The rest of the photos are what happened in my studio.

Why am I doing this?

Hello Art World!

Well, hello to the three people who may actually read this. I have to tell you that I never ever, ever, ever thought that I would Blog. I've never been to keen on computers and I only, mostly, use the interwebs for shopping and icanhascheezeburger.com. I just really started reading blogs in the last few weeks. Sure I tried them before, but was easily annoyed by, well, people talking about themselves.

Being an ARTIST, I wanted to find a way to let people in on the process and what goes on behind the curtain in Angela Victor's (that's me, Angela Victor, artist extraordinaire) crazy little head. The first reason I wanted to do this is to have a place where I can lay it all out, see what I'm thinking and then act on those thoughts. Second, to have a way to let people know what I do (hopefully one day people other than my closest friends will read this, and even they may not want to do that.)

Well, that's all for now.
